44th District day celebrated on 1st of July in the District library, Barpeta

with a grand felicitation ceremony honoring distinguished citizens, meritorious students and frontline personnel for their outstanding contributions to society. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by noted academic Akshay Kumar Mishra, followed by a welcome address by District Development Commissioner Geetalee Dowarah. MLA Deepak Kumar Das, Satradhikars Dr. Babul Chandra Das (Barpeta Satra), and Nirmal Adhikari (Sundaridia Satra) among others, along with district officials, attended the event. At the event, Bhaskar Jyoti Ojah was felicitated for receiving the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. On the other hand, outstanding HSLC and Higher Secondary achievers, personnel from the Police and Health Departments, and exemplary Jila Parishad workers engaged in agriculture and livelihood development were also honoured. The programme also featured vibrant cultural performances. A play was also performed in the District Library in the evening as part of the celebration.
