Overview
Department of Adult Education Barpeta was established in the year 1984 since the inception the Department have been working to formal literacy to the under privileged, out of school illiterate candidates, multiple schemes, mission intervention have been taken and implement for Adult Education.

The Department provide Adult Education to the identify targeted population , supporting documents of various schemes are attached herewith for further reference.
Ongoing Scheme
The Department is presently working on “Padhna Likhna Abhiyan“. A total of 13065 number of targeted population have been identify through survey across Barpeta District in different Elementary Education Block. Total 839 may volunteer teacher will provide Literacy to the identify targeted population.
